Message From The President

Dear Members,

Welcome to the Rho Delta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. I am delighted to share that I have started to work as the President of the Chapter.  As I reflect over the last several years, I begin to realize the chapter activities are showing tremendous impact in the nursing education, practice and research.

I would like to extend my gratitude to the Chair & Co-Chairs of Newsletter, Publicity & Web editing Committee for their hard work in compiling and publishing this newsletter. The committee now has introduced the newsletter through online portal, using the blogger website.
The Rho Delta Chapter is now celebrating its completion of 17th year.  Rho Delta Chapter is now a community of distinguish members, including nursing students and nurses who are serving as Faculty members, clinical nurses, leaders, and researchers. Almost all the members are working towards improving health through nursing scholarship, service, practice, and research.

It is also a pride moment for the chapter that the members are collaborating to work with other disciplines, government and private sectors to improve the quality of life the low income population and the vulnerable segments of the population. Few of the activities are listed in this newsletter. It is my hope to work more on improving nursing education in the country by providing continuing education to nurses, nurse educators and clinician. The chapter continues to strive towards increasing the number of nursing faculty and nursing leaders from all over country.

I must admit that there is lot of opportunities made available to the Rho delta members to make regional and international collaboration and work together as one nursing community. I strongly believe that with all individual differences and qualities together we can make world peaceful with global health for all. As His Highness the Aga Khan IV said “We would be required to respect the immense diversity of ethnicities, of languages and of cultures, of faiths, of philosophies. In short, we learned to embrace the values of Global Citizenship” (His Highness speech, Toronto, Canada, 21 September 2016)

I would like to express my gratitude to all Rho Delta Chapter’s board of directors; officers and members for their time and services to improve the image and status of nursing profession nationally, regionally and globally.

Regards,
Dr. Rubina Barolia
